Having spent some 30 years in this industry, I don’t believe I have ever seen such difficult world trading conditions in steel, particularly on the supply side, which is also now being felt through almost monthly price increases.
This news up-date will enable me to pass on information I glean from my contacts in the industry, and through my conversations with those bodies that might be able to bring some influence on the situation.

World Steel Price and Supply Crisis:
How Reddifast is helping customers
The current situation is highly volatile. Price increases have been coming without warning, and without notice or precedent. For the coming fourth quarter at least, Mittal and the cold rolled steel producers have indicated that prices will be held. We continue to monitor alternative sources but we are still unable to recommend any of sufficient quality.
Over recent months, current stock at Reddifast has been held at pre–increase price levels, unlike many suppliers who have applied increases to pre-existing stock. Reddifast has gone public in denouncing this practice as part of its commitment to the industry in delivering best practice.
As part of this commitment to our customers, our team here at Reddifast has just completed a cost-down exercise across its whole processing operation. Basic raw material remains charged at cost, without add-ons.
To help our customers manage their costs, Reddifast has a dedicated Small Order Service. No order is too small and our fast response team will slit and deliver stock gauge within its committed target of
24 hours.

New General Manager means
Reddifast

Vicky Plant has been appointed to the new
position of General Manager at Reddifast.
Formerly our Sales Manager, Vicky has been part of the team for five years, during which time she has been a key to establishing our high reputation for customer focused service and support. |

Prior to joining Reddifast, Vicky spent a number of years in the West Midlands metal industry as Purchasing Manger and in Production Control at a major hard chrome plating company. Vicky brought a range of skills and depth of understanding to our industry and her extensive knowledge has helped Reddifast to achieve its current position.
Vicky comments “I have taken on this key role at a critical time for the steel supply industry. We've already done a great deal to limit our customers’ exposure to these harsh conditions. My focus will be to help Reddifast maintain its reputation as one of the best customer-focused teams in the industry, not just in this difficult period, but also in the long term."
