about reddifast barriers & bollards
We recognised that the market needed new, technically-strong, tested, and competitive, practical alternatives to traditional barrier systems and suppliers. With over 30 years’ experience in spring steels Reddifast could meet all those criteria. In our first year we invested in specialist production facilities for spring steel safety barrier posts and bollards to supply stockists and system installation companies around the UK.
Our range of barrier systems provide traffic control and pedestrian protection in locations such as multi-storey and surface car parks and industrial premises. Our full range of bollards, bolt-down or concrete-in are available in a choice of materials; steel tube, stainless or plastic.
All supporting installation components are supplied, giving developers, designers, architects, surveyors, installers and erectors a range of more cost-effective and flexible solutions for off-road barrier protection and multi-storey car parks.
The service is backed with full IT control from ordering, through production, to packing, test certification and account management.

Testing & British Standards
Reddifast flexible car park barrier systems have successfully completed a comprehensive, independent testing programme at MIRA, the Motor Industry Research Association.
The tests, in accordance with BS6399 Part 1 1996 and BS6180 1995, were completed on spring steel barrier systems using the several different versions of both the Reddifast spring steel posts and the Reddifast Steel Cushi Posts. The barrier systems also comply with the latest guidelines in the recent ICE reports into protection around structures.
For a number of years there has been a lack of choice of fully tested and approved barrier systems for car parks within the UK, but the Reddifast spring steel safety barrier systems have already been integrated in the Waling Rail profile, which has a less intrusive width and is considered less industrial in appearance than other barrier protection systems.
The Reddifast parking posts were part of the uniquely innovative safety barrier system used in the Gloucester Quays Car Park Barrier Contract, one of the largest car park barrier contracts awarded to date in the UK. The contract required a total of 3,474m of car park barrier systems, including products from across the Reddifast range.
Spring Steel posts
A wide range of spring steel posts, bollards, and column protection, including bespoke designs, offers more installation options for multi-storey car parks and all other off-road protection systems. Our posts are designed to deflect on impact, vastly reducing damage to the vehicle, and protecting the infrastructure of the building.
Spring steel barrier posts offer significant savings in cost against all criteria, including maintenance, replacement and whole life.
Installation is quick and easy compared with rigid systems, requiring only one or two ground bolts with minimum embedment. Fewer fixings mean fewer holes to drill with time and materials savings.
Reddifast barrier posts and mountings retain their integrity and continuing effectiveness after impacts, with significantly reduced force transferred into the car park deck. Less embedding depth means a greater range of installation opportunities, rigid posts need a thicker concrete floor.
Our Products
Spring Steel Post – Part no SP610 / SP760
This is the most called-for post for multi-storey car parks, with its ability to absorb most vehicle impacts, vastly reducing damage to the vehicle, and protecting the infrastructure of the building.
Replacement of posts is quick and easy, as is the original installation. The fitting time is very much less than rigid posts.
The post material is EN43 Spring Steel, fully certificated and traceable. The material section is 10mm x 76 mm or 14mm x 100mm or 20mm x 100mm. The posts are hardened and tempered after forming, followed by hot dip galvanising.
The posts and systems have been tested to comply with the British Standard BS6399 Part 1 Impact Testing and BS6180.
Spring Steel Post – Part no SPLSG / SPLMG / SPLHG
The benefits of this simple “L” shape post are that it can be manufactured to any height, and in three thicknesses, to suit the weight of traffic in the area of movement.
The SPLSG post is for the support of barriers in light traffic areas and column protectors.
The SPLMG post is the most chosen in this design and is a very robust barrier support for automobile traffic up to 1.5 tonnes.
The SPLHG is a heavy duty post, to support Open Box Beam or Armco Beam, and is capable of absorbing light impact from HGVs and is used to protect areas and structures where HGVs are parking or maneuvering.
The post material is EN43 Spring Steel, conforming to BS6399 Part 1 Impact Testing. The posts are hardened and tempered after forming, followed by hot dip galvanising.
The base plate is mild steel 6mm thick, available in 200mm or 300mm length to suit the post foot.
Spring Steel Post – Part no SPTSG / SPTMG / SPTHG
The most popular post in our spring steel post range. This post deflects approximately 350 mm, and as well as protecting the car park infrastructure, damage to vehicles is minimised by the absorption of the impact by the beam and post.
The post material is EN43 Spring Steel, fully certificated and traceable. The posts are hardened and tempered after forming, followed by hot dip galvanising.
The posts are manufactured and tested to comply with the British Standard BS6399 Part 1 Impact Testing and BS6180.
Base plate is mild steel 6mm thick, available in 200mm or 300mm lengths to suit post foot.

Cushi Posts
This replaceable post can be quickly dismantled from the base socket by removing the pivot bolt, so that replacement in the event of damage is quick and easy.
Polystyrene cushions in the post socket act as impact absorbers, and whilst giving full protection to infrastructures and installations, the damage to vehicles striking the barrier is minimised.
The post material is Hot Rolled Mild Steel, fully certificated and traceable.
We provide custom column protectors to your requirements
Armco Barrier Rail
& Open Box Beam
The Armco beam is considered to be the strongest traffic and pedestrian barrier range in the UK. This robust barrier system is perfect for service roads, loading bays and delivery zones, where there is often heavy traffic.
The Armco and Open Box Beam are manufactured using galvanised steel as standard. However other finish options are available and for added protection they can have a powder coated finish where you can choose between yellow or black coloured beams. If you require a specific colour on your powder coated finish, lead times may apply.
Handrails
We provide a range of handrail attachments and handrail tube – often necessary to comply with regulations and standards – for example when the barrier is installed alongside a pedestrian walkway. When a barrier handrail system is installed in a public place, the handrail must finish 1100mm above the ground level.
Handrail tube is galvanised to BS EN 10240.
Handrail extensions can be formed straight or cranked to bolt on to any of our posts. A Handrail Form to any diameter can be included to suit any tube or bar or left without a form and used to support all types and sizes of mesh infill for pedestrian protection. The extensions are made from mild steel and galvanised, the material section would be the same as the post that it is fitted to.
The lower panels fill the gap between the bottom of the barrier and the ground and as well as preventing access.
Mesh Panels
Fitting an anti-climb mesh infill above and below the Armco Open Box Beam or full mesh to the front of the barrier can be an important safety feature. Full mesh panels in front of the beam are fixed by our double cranked handrail extension.
Mesh panels fill the gap between the top of the barrier and the handrail and prevents people, particularly children, climbing through.
The lower panels fill the gap between the bottom of the barrier and the ground and as well as preventing access.
Patented Deflecting Bollards
Our Reddifast spring-mounted bollard was patented in June 2018 and is an innovative solution to more traditional access-blocking bollards which can cause damage to ground foundations when hit. The concealed sealed spring in the base unit absorbs energy on impact, providing deflection which also minimises damage to the vehicle. Following impact the post returns upright, ready to perform again.
We have a full range of bollards, bolt-down or concrete-in and in a choice of materials; steel tube, stainless or plastic.
Suitable for supermarket car parks, multi-storey car parks, lorry parks, street furniture
our posts & systems have been tested to comply with British standards
Pedestrian Beam End Protection
Fishtail Ends to Armco are mainly used for traffic conditions but also remove the potential of injury from the sharp Armco ends to pedestrians, they are available in the galvanised finish or in Hi-Viz traffic yellow powder coat.
Plastic push on end caps are the easiest solution to protect pedestrians from the sharp edges on the ends of Armco beams and are available in Traffic Yellow.
Other galvanised Armco protective ends are the Bull Nose and Pedestrian Scroll ends.
In the bollard range there are three plastic post caps for, RSJ Posts, C Section Posts and Z Section Posts.
On our manufactured bollards we can fit steel tops or plastic tops with finishes in galvanised, painted, or powder coated in any colour and Hi-Viz bands can be added to bollards, bolt down or concrete in.
For us to design and quote for your barriers please measure the lengths of Armco or OBB required and include the corners, ends and caps required for the system.
